Okay, so let me start by saying, my favourite song changes on a week to week basis…a long time ago I was a singer (before I found my home in photography) and I was always changing my favourite song.
Currently my favourite song is by Wes Carr, Been a Long Time.
This is the chorus to the song
It’s been a long time, been a long time, yeah, hey
Well it’s been a long time, been a long time, yeah, hey
I missed you
Been a long time, been a long time, yeah, hey
And I’m steering in the fast lane, counting every white line
I kiss you in the morning and meet you in the sunshine
Na na na na na na na na
So meet me in the sun shine, yeah
Na na na na na na na na
There is a back story to this, because it is a song that was released about this time last year.
My amazing friend Sam, who is now living in Perth, because after he graduated, he managed to get an amazing job in the mines over there. Sam is like my big brother, there whenever I need him, and it’s so hard to know that he doesn’t just live 5 minutes down the road now. Anyway, back to the day when this song found a true passion in my heart. It was 8am on a Sunday morning, probably last October, and we were driving out to Mallala for a day of him racing the car, and I was doing the timing for the whole event. We had a fairly small playlist running in the car that day, and every single time this song came on, the sun came out, but the sun never came out when any of the other songs were on. This seemed strange to us, but made us both feel a sense of warmth.
Now, 4 days ago, I decided to pull out a CD in my car that I hadn’t listened to in a while, and low and behold, this song came on, it was the 2nd song on the CD, and again, as soon as it played, the sun came out. My mind instantly went to Sam.
This song makes me want to never change the CD in my car ever again, because while it does remind me how much I miss him, it also makes me feel like he is right beside me, and we are singing crazily to this song again!
Today’s pictures are just of the gorgeous sunlight in my front yard this afternoon, and my new baby’s home (aka camera bag), which is truly gorgeous, and the colour changes in every single light! For the photogs out there…Kelly Moore 2 Sues in Indigo. This bag is truly amazing, I keep surprising myself with how much I can pack into it!
Okay, so there is my essay in my 52 week challenge for the month!
